I teach folk magic
« on: November 29, 2015, 11:01:33 am »
Hello, I'm Carnelian and I'm happy to join this forum.
For two years I've been studying Swedish folk magic, and I now teach it. I often mix modern witchcraft with traditional witchcraft.

Anyone else into folk magic? :)

Vilka samlingar av källtexter på svenska skulle du föreslå?

Which collections of sources in Swedish would you suggest?

My witchcraft is pretty much based in British folk magic

Carl-Herman Tillhagen has a lot of great books, and of course Ebbe Schön. Trolldom and Bot och Botare are good books. Bengt af Klintberg has some books.

That's all I know from the top of my head.

Ebbe Schön disappoints me. He keeps his books on a too 'popular' level. I want detailed notes and sources.

For comparative purposes (Norwegians are close neighbours) you might appreciate A. Chr. Bang: Norske Hexeformularer og Magigske Opskrifter (A.W. Brøgger, Kristiania, 1901).

I do focus on folk magic, and domestic witchery. Although, my own magick is eclectic. Honestly, I think it's pretty awesome that you teach it. I so don't have the patience to even teach a dog anything, more less a human. :p
