Daylight Savings Time ends tonight at 2am (which suddenly becomes 1am).  This means that (in most of the US) you need to set your clocks back one  hour before you go to bed or you will be confused in the morning. Also, in Canada, I believe.

That, *and* it feels like you're getting an extra hour of sleep!

(Also, IMO I'm happy to see it get dark "earlier.")

This. Our dogs are happier for the morning light, however.

I find I am more productive despite it getting darker earlier. I know it's the opposite for other people, but the shorter days work for me.

This is my most productive time of year, too. Maybe because I work well at night?

I'm that way as well.  I think it's a combination of being a night-owl and the nature of the season.  There's also just a lot that happens this time of year in my world.  From the beginning of October through New Year's, I do the bulk of my religious work, a good chunk of my writing for the year (hooray NaNoWriMo!), as well as most of the big family and social gatherings.  The increased productivity comes from trying to cram all of that into an already busy schedule.  This might be why I always want to hibernate through January and February.

That makes a lot of sense, because I am not a night-owl. I like the earlier mornings of this time. It's easier for me to get up, and I wake up in a better mood. But yes, scheduling is huge during this time of year, and a big blank schedule often leads to procrastination for me, but when I have to pay closer attention then I am more likely to stick to it.

The bulk of my religious work happens around now, too. Interesting how that works out.

*fistbump*  Yay for liminality and the blessed dead. My autumns would be a much quieter and less interesting time without them.

Oh, very much so. They certainly liven up the season, so to speak. :)

Not observing DST is one of the (very few) perks of living in AZ. Course, we still have to remember everyone else's new time difference if we want to call. :p

I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence," [Bill] Gates wrote. "First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent. A have a friend who lived in Arizona for years. Having to deal with DST again was one of her only complaints when she moved to another state.
