I wish to make a permanent altar in my bedroom so that i can use it from time to time. I've searched but i can't find anything useful online and in Cauldron everyone says he has one but not how

I assume it's something more than putting stones on over the other

It can be anything that's meaningful to you and helps you connect with the gods and/or ancestors. You could have a framed picture (from the internet) of a deity or deities, or something that represents the deity... keys for Frigga, a good knife for Tyr, a small hammer (not a ballpeen or claw hammer), etc. If you're going to make offerings, a bowl, cup and/or plate. You can get some nice ones at a $ store. A candle or two, maybe an incense holder. Here are some altar images for ideas (including some Pagan).
