Another one looking for help in finding my true path
« on: March 05, 2015, 11:10:44 pm »
To start with, my wife is Wiccan and I have attended several rituals with her. I guess that as of now, I would be classed as an Eclectic Pagan. My beliefs incorporate elements of Native American, Celtic and maybe even a tiny bit of Star Wars. I feel that there is a universal energy that exists everywhere. I guess you could call by many names including "The Force"(thus the Star Wars reference) I also feel that The true gods and goddesses exist in nature and I am never closer to them than when I am in the forests or on the waters. I have always felt a close connection to the Wolf, and believe it to be my "Spirit Animal". I know that some of you will say, "You have years to choose your path" but, I am a 3+ years survivor of Stage4  breast cancer, (and yes I am a male) so I don't really know how many years I might have , I take things one day at a time. I know this is a rambling post, but I would greatly appreciate ant help the board can give me.

Welcome! I think Jediism became a religion back in 2005, maybe that was an effort to mess with the census but there are communities out there that do take a kind of Reconstructionist approach to Star Wars.

New Age which might get a bad reputation but I can appreciate what the movement offers in "a mix of whatever we can find, in the exact amount than any adherents would have."

I hear Animism is kind of coming back into popular consideration, too.

And then, of course, there's the idea that there's no need to label the path you have, your philosophies, morals, existential hope and fears…it's all just one with what you do and how you understand the world and how you live and maybe beyond that after. If you can take one day at a time, one moment at a time might not be so difficult taken with the idea that this appreciation of the moment is an act of faith.

It sounds to me like you've found your path.  Eclectic pagan works.  There's no rules about having to find a pantheon.  If you're looking for a patron deity, I'd say keep doing what you're doing.  Eventually you'll bump into each other.  But the more you learn, the more you'll find what works best for you.
If you understand, things are just as they are.  If you do not understand, things are just as they are.
