Songs of the Metamythos --by Altair

I wrote a book!

It's called Songs of the Metamythos, and if you've ever wondered what myths born today might look like--who these gods are, and what truths their stories might tell--this is for you. There's also a secret woven through the book, which I challenge anyone to decipher.

But rather than bore you with a lot of talk, you can see for yourself at the book's very visual website:

http://www.SongsOfTheMetamythos.com

The book is available in both print and e-book formats from Amazon. Also note that for a limited time for Cauldron members, I'm offering Songs of the Metamythos for free. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks!

The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

I was wondering what your new sig pic was all about.  :)

I just grabbed the Kindle copy.  I need to finish The Legend of Eli Monpress first and then I'll jump into Songs of the Metamythos.

I have to admit it's rather cool that you've been involved with the comic industry.  While I haven't been a collector I have enjoyed the storytelling format.  I really enjoyed Shaman's Tears from Image and was sad when they ended the title after just ten issues.  It was a great idea and spoke to those of us who had been thwapped, even if you hadn't realized it yet!

I look forward to listening to your stories, Altair.

Thanks, Oaksworn!

I haven't been actively involved in comics for a while, so I'm not familiar with Shaman's Tears. It always sucks, though, when a title you're attached to bites the dust prematurely.

Just got the kindle copy!

No idea when I will finally read it because it has to join the queue behind Shad, Kiya and Morag's books (I will always buy Cauldron members' books. Getting around to reading them is another matter entirely :o )

I couldn't resist the allure of launching this into the world during the solstice-new moon double whammy. And since I can't afford a live-action launch party, I think having a cyber one here with Cauldronites during UAN is the next best thing--and maybe even a little better!

I'm so glad you guys are enjoying it. I've been working on it for so long, with very limited feedback, that it became hard to gauge how others would react to it.
