For a friend's husband, cancer potential
« on: December 19, 2014, 09:16:55 am »
The husband of a good friend of mine just went in for surgery on a salivary gland tumor. Lot had been biopsied and classified as benign, but it appears the biopsy may not have been representative.

The upshot is they got all of the tumor out, but since it is probably malignant the wait now is on grading. If it's a low-grade, then they're probably mostly done. If it's a high-grade, then more surgery and lymph node removal, and then radiation and so on.

Both my friend and her husband are scared and very shocked, especially after the clean biopsy. I've been praying for them and offering to Ganesha previously, but I wanted to turn this over to the larger community because they need all the love and support possible.
If I wake in the morning I only need two more miracles to be a saint.

Prayers for both them and you going out.

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes.

Unfortunately, it is malignant. They're still working on what stage it is and whether it's metastasized. Hopefully it was caught early enough that all this is mostly precautionary.

Just to say thank you again, so much, for the prayers.  A PET scan came back clear, so it appears that one more surgery is all that he'll need.  It's been a very difficult last week for my friend and her family, but hopefully things are beginning to look up a little.

Phew. At least something's going right. I'll send prayers when I can.
