Pr is actually listed on the link I provided upthread.

There is also Ind, which is short for individual.

I recall one scifi story where the honorific form was to use the person's first initial; thus, Taylor Brown would be addressed as "Tee Brown". Of course, that requires knowing someone's first name.

Following on from this topic, what goes with the set, "Sir/Maam/______"? I recall seeing "Shir" for the Shi pronouns, but are there others?

Can I address people as Pr. initially without offending?

I mean, if I start doing so now, and people ask, I can easily explain it's a gender neutral address compared to Mr./Mrs.

That should be positive if we manage it well. A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don\'t understand why some people are not concerned."

I don't think it's possible to do anything without offending someone, but generally speaking defaulting to a gender-neutral title is a nice thing to do until you know what title someone prefers. And, of course, adjusting if/when they correct you.

(I've had people use Mx repeatedly for me after I said I prefer Mz or, better yet, to just be called by the name I was going by on that site, and then been told that because I didn't want to be called Mx I was not a real non-binary person.)

You know, that's a good question and one I don't have an answer for. It's not something that's been relevant to my personal life so I haven't looked it up, or given it much thought.

Someone else who knows more than I do will have to chime in here.

From what I can tell, that one's still Under Construction. I don't feel a particular need for one myself - it's perfectly possible for people to speak politely to each other without using sir/ma'am or a gender-neutral equivalent - but that's how I felt about titles, too ('Ms, if you must. Or Cpl (ret'd) because I earned that.') until I saw Mx and it felt right; possibly someone will come up with something I take a shine to.

I've used Syr for one particular gender-neutral character in a novel for this purpose. I think I pencilled in a pronunciation close to 'seer', just to emphasise I hadn't just mis-spelled Sir. I don't know if it's a perfect alternative, though. But it did the job I needed it to do.
