Author Topic: Need help identifying goddess (hare, wolf) - Medeina? (Read 2262 times)

Hi and hello!

For those who see block of text and prefer not to read, which is okay: Is there a forest goddess that has the hare and wolf as her symbols? I've been researching hunting goddesses (Artemis, Diana) and even war goddesses (Andraste), but Medeina/Medeire is really calling out to me. However, I am not sure. Would like some fresh eyes.

I am basically mystified and trying to identify this goddess. For a month now I've been feeling a 'tug' of a goddess attempting to contact me... Which is strange, and new, and rather frightening, considering I have never really felt close to any goddess. Just a couple of days ago, I received my Wildwood tarot in the mail and, after a few readings, thought that it was a good idea to ask this goddess, whoever it was, to reveal herself.

Boy, did she answer.

The three cards that I drew were:

Two of Stones - Challenge (Two Hares)
Ten of Stones - Home (Tree)
King of Stones - Wolf (Wolf)

I then decided to be cheeky and reshuffle the cards, almost daring her to give me only one symbol. The card that I drew from the deck was The Queen of Bows - Hare (Hare).

Anyone know of any goddesses related to the hare, or the hare and the wolf? I've been researching non-stop, but I would like some assistance. If anyone is familiar with these signs, too, and could point me in the right direction, that would be wonderful.

Meanwhile I've placed an offering for Medeine/Medeina... Perhaps she'll come calling. But I'm not sure if it's her; the goddess that answered me certainly felt efficient. No BS.

Second, if she doesn't reply she might be making this a challenge, where you must 'hunt' her name as a initiation, in which case she might count asking the Cauldron as cheating.

Ask her. Never hurts.

Try meditating/praying before bed, drink a tea with herbs to promote dreaming, and see what pops up.

Also, consider that she may not even be a known goddess.

I can think that there's a challenge in trying to find her. I've honed her down to two or three goddesses so I've made an offering to one, let's see where it goes. I've asked and I'm probably aggravating her asking her to reveal herself; she revealed herself pretty well.

Medeine is not well known...
