My district manager has not been happy with how the store has been running, and he fired the store manager last month (and spread the word far and wide that he had done the firing, rather than my store manager resigning). I've been trying to do the work in 32 hours a week that corporate wants done between a store manager and an assistant manager over 85 hours per week. I've got part timers refusing direct instructions from me and the DM not backing me up. Said DM spent the day in my store today, and could have sat down with me then to have a "discussion," but wants me to come into the store tomorrow morning on my day off for a meeting with him instead. This leads me to think he couldn't fire me when there was no one there to fill in for the rest of my shift. So I'm really panicking, and I'm afraid it's going to sabotage me for the second interview I have for another position in the afternoon. Please send backup, at least spiritually.

Hope you get the second gig, Steph-- I've had the struggling-store-with-shitty-DM problem before, and it's toxic.  Are you documenting stuff, saving emails, that sort of thing?
