Harvest your own 'blood energy'

Having seen too many cases of sepsis, this creeps me out but I'm sure there will be people who would like to wear these:

The idea is intriguing. I wonder how this could evolve into something that could actually be used medically. Perhaps a device similar but not into veins that could test blood sugar for diabetics?

After my initial *squick* reaction (needles do that to me), I took a look at Naomi Kizhner's site and was intrigued by her premise that depletion of resources could lead us into harvesting energy from our own bodies, and that this is a discussion people should be having.  I love art that makes me think.

That said, the only one I would even be willing to try is the blinker, and I think the fact that I wear eyeglasses would preclude me from being able to do so.  The idea of inserting something into a vein when I (as yet) haven't been able to make myself donate blood is just...yeah, no.

As concept, I think it's fascinating.  As actually DOING IT .. ACK ACK ACK!

Judging by the article, they're modern art.

No one's wearing them. No one intends to. It's a statement, not a collection of functional pieces.

Ditto. Clicked on the link and then noped the hell out of there.
Maker, though the darkness comes upon me,
I shall embrace the light. I shall weather the storm.
I shall endure.
