My brother has cancer
« on: October 14, 2014, 03:40:53 pm »
Hi everyone. My brother found out a few months ago that he has bladder cancer. He's gone through 3 surgeries already. During his last surgery it was found that one of his kidneys had shut down completely and needed to be removed. He then went through 12 weeks of chemo only to find out that it didn't help and he's now scheduled to have his bladder removed in November. I know he's scared...our mom passed away when she was only 60 from cancer (he's 54) and all the grandparents have passed from one form of cancer or another. Our dad quit speaking to both of us years ago and doesn't  know his son is sick...I don't think he would contact him even if he did know. I'm doing what I can to help but if anyone has the time could you please send him some prayers, energy, good thoughts or anything else that could help? It would really mean a lot...
Thank you

I'm really sorry to hear about your brother, Carmen. Just said a prayer to Brighid for you.
Maker, though the darkness comes upon me,
I shall embrace the light. I shall weather the storm.
I shall endure.
What you have created, no one can tear asunder.

I'm so sorry you and he are going through this. May Eir come to his aid to heal him, and may Thor protect you both and give you strength.

Thank you Aisling!

I wanted to thank everyone again for the much needed support. He's going through a really rough time right now and all the prayers and good wishes are appreciated very much!

Sorry about what you and your brother are going through. I hope the doctors can get the cancer under control once his bladder is removed, though I'm sure it's still a miserable thing to have done. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you Nyktelios!

He's just really struggling right now. He lost his job a few months ago so he has a lot of time to just dwell on things and I don't think that's helping. They're waiting until the middle of November to do the procedure (he's going to have to have a urostomy bag from then on) so his holidays are going to be less than great if I had to guess. I can't see him as much as I'd like to so I've been trying to send him cards, etc. to keep his spirits up. Not sure if it's helping or not though.
