It's....not oblivion. It's not. It's. Just. Not.

To Buddhists, the self is not REAL. It's an illusion. It confines us. It keeps us from experiencing REALITY. Nirvana is not oblivion. It is a release from worldly limitations. Including the ego.

Without the ego we dont even exist, and life is meaningless.
Only a Jedi would say something that empty and souless.
No offense really but Yuck!

I'm sorry if my beliefs upset you. But they're not uncommon or unusual. Not for Buddhists.

And I like Jedi. Yoda da man.

Seriously, maligning the Jedi Order?

I sense much fear in you.

Just scary and heartless in my pov.

Jedi are more emotionless than droids.
Joda is an empty husk.
I hate them!

Actually, I feel like this has been very productive, since now I know where you're coming from. Since you're very focused on the preservation and exaltation of your own self and ego, why don't you look into a "left hand" path like theistic Satanism or Luciferianism?

To me its the same.......

If that really is the natural course of things i most certainly will!
I will never allow that to happen.
Ever.

There's nothing wrong with just trying stuff on and seeing how it fits. Like Cuthwin Crowe said, it seems like you don't really understand theistic Satanism or Luciferianism. If you dipped your toe in the waters (not necessarily the waters of practice, maybe just the waters of research and learning), afterward you'd at least know more about yourself and what you need in a path. Maybe it would turn out that it really is a good path for you. Maybe it wouldn't, and you could try focusing on something else that someone has suggested, like Hermeticism.

I came to my path, like I think many people do, through a string of trials and errors in different traditions. But since I spent time studying and trying to understand those traditions, I was able to find a valuable thing here and there in each that I can apply to my current path, like I will apply the things I am learning now to whatever I will do in the future. Research and study are rarely wasted.

But back on topic.......

Are you being held by human traffickers in a remote part of the Sudan and being forced to live on bread and water and worship an ailen god at the point of a sword?

No. Just...stop. Stop and think.

You have accused people of marginalizing or minimizing your problems and/or feelings. Nobody here has done that, nobody here would do that. There is a difference between having your feelings minimized and trying to gain a point of * perspective*. Some of the peole here have been through mind-numbingly horrible traumas or are still working through them so you are not alone. But even some of them have heeded your call for help, turned away from their own pain and posted something they hoped would be of help to *you*. The voices of experience are a mighty teacher and should be listened to.

This conversation has ceased to be merely circular, it's become a downward spiral. It's obvious it's not helping you as far as I can see.

There have been thousands of 'views' of this thread, there have been many and varied responses. So...you've definitly got our attention.  If a person were looking for a starting point for helping themselves psychologically and spiritually, this is a downright hot spot of good advice and multiple sources of information.

It should have it's own twitter page by now.

But if you are just going to reject all suggestions, refuse to do any reading or seeking for personal help on your own, what do you want? Venting is good,we all need to do it but then a time comes when one stops venting and tries to use the help and resources that have been freely, even lovingly given.

We would all of us like to go back to the past and in some way change the narrative of our lives. It can't be done and frankly, just getting rid of the 'evidence' of it leads to very bad places indeed. You cannot get 'vengence and freedom' from something that happened long ago. You *can* keep it in the past, take help that is offered and move on.

Reality is a hard mother. But it has it's times of subliminity and inspiration and growth and if we don't grow, we regress. And if we do start to regress, moving back into fantasy land is not going to give us a good footing for starting again.

So, what are you going to do now?  At least do *something*. Just passively mulling over the things or people in your life that have wronged you gets you exactly nowhere.

Help has and will be offered here ( there is a bunch of truly good people with generous hearts and great stores of wisdom here) but if you continue to just be passive and stay in the whine bottle, nothing will happen.

And that would be sad. Bad courses can be changed. but accepting a position of embittered stasis goes nowhere. You are young and have the energy to live a good life , accepting help when needed and helping yourself with the resources avalable to you (which is the most empowering).

So, what now?

What if you cant ground yourself?
Every time i try i feel like i am floating in the air.

Just out of curiosity,  what's your astrological sign?
The pace of progress in artificial intelligence (I’m not referring to narrow AI) is incredibly fast. [...] The risk of something seriously dangerous happening is in the five year timeframe. 10 years at most.--Elon Musk

I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence," [Bill] Gates wrote. "First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent. That should be positive if we manage it well. A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don\'t understand why some people are not concerned."
