good job thoughts...
« on: August 24, 2011, 01:53:14 am »
So I had a job interview yesterday that led to a callback before the day was over - I'm into the second round, and am still the only candidate for the position. There are, however, still two more interviews - one with the head of the research department, one with the foundation that's paying for the research project - AND the papers for the grant have not been signed yet, so while it's unlikely, funding *could* still fall through.

This job is basically everything I want right now (research project surrounding the Dutch translation of a new diagnostic tool for autistic spectrum disorders), and almost five years after graduating, I REALLY want to finally be able to settle down somewhere. So good thoughts for this to work out would be extremely appreciated.

Good luck with the interviews and the grant funding!

Sadly, I've had two jobs disappear just as I about to be hired, once because a grant funding for the position did not come through and once because the company decided to axe the entire division that was about to hire me.

Update: had the second interview (with the financers) today, and got official approval from them. Head of research declared his schedule's too full to see me before October, but he trusts in the judgement of the people I had the first interview with, so to go ahead and hire me, and we can do an introduction later. That is, I'm hired!

I'm beyond excited - the project's pretty cool, the follow-up project they're looking at is even cooler, and I get to be a nerd all over everything! So so happy. Now we go househunting :D:D:D:D
