Greetings from the Black Forest
« on: August 05, 2014, 04:10:33 am »
Greetings from the Black Forest :)

Good morning!

I have been here since December 2013, but I have not introduced myself yet.

I live quite near the Black Forest, a region, where Celtic and Roman and Germanic beliefs once mixed.

I was born in Baden-Baden - near the Mountain Merkur - dedicated to the Roman God Mercury.

That much as an introduction.

If you have any questions, just ask them.

Have a good day all day! :)

Thank you for your welcome,  veggiewolf! :)

I had to look up, what "lurk mode" means! ;)

Welcome to The Cauldron? Are you a Catholic, as your profile field seems to indicate?

Interesting. I was an adult convert to Traditional (e.g. "Latin Mass") Catholicism for about 5 years, before having a loss of faith. I still find that much of my education and experience as a Catholic has shaped me positively.

Do you follow your Catholicism in an orthodox manner, or do you incorporate any pagan or witchcraft beliefs and practices into your faith?

I am not orthodox in any way - never have been. :)

I am interested and open for all kinds of religions.  :)

Greetings from the Black Forest :)

:)

I'm sure you get this a lot, but the name "Black Forest" sounds like a Pagan wonderland/faerie tale setting.

I firmly believe that if the movie "Wicker Man"(the original, not that sad remake) wasn't set in Summerisle, it would have been set in somewhere called the "Black Forest".

I am sure that actually living near the Black Forest isn't all(or even most) chock full of introspection and Pagan stuff but I just had to say something.

Anyhow, welcome to The Cauldron, I hope you enjoy your stay.

It is like this:

On the one side, there are real and ordinary people living in the Black Forest.

On the other side, the region is full of legends and fairy tales.

And the atmosphere in the forest can be quite mysterious.
