My son
« on: July 27, 2014, 09:37:05 am »
My 20 year old son was told yesterday that if he does not get a new heart, he may only have a year and a half or so to live.

Very hard to come to grips with that.

Prayers, energy, thoughts............ all will be appreciated
Really?  So, hey, want to go fishing?  I\'ve got a telescope, and it\'s going to be a dark night, so we should see the fish really well.
...what, I\'m not talking about fishing?  That\'s stargazing?  It\'s all doing-stuff, so it\'s the same thing, right?

You've got it, of course!  A candle to Brighid every night. And anything else I can do.

Thank you all so much. I am a big believer in the positive energy and prayers can be a huge help.

This is the result he got from the family doctor. So from here on out its specialists and blood thinning treatments 3 times a week. We are hoping that a specialist will have a less severe prognosis, but until then we are treating the situation as though this diagnosis is accurate.

The piss off is that my wife has been bugging doctors since he was very little to check his heart as something about the rhythm of it seemed off to her. So when the doctor told him its something that has been there his whole life...... well........

I will keep you both in my thoughts. I hope you're able to get more helpful help from the specialists, and may he get what he needs as swiftly as possible.

Damn, Fire. :(

I'll be sending it all your way.
The pace of progress in artificial intelligence (I’m not referring to narrow AI) is incredibly fast. [...] The risk of something seriously dangerous happening is in the five year timeframe. 10 years at most.--Elon Musk

I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence," [Bill] Gates wrote. "First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent. That should be positive if we manage it well. A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don\'t understand why some people are not concerned."

Just as Jack put it, Fireof9.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs
