Fall and winter are my favorite times of year. Partly because I love being able to bundle up warm (poor body-temp regulation makes summer awful) and partly because of the abundance of my favorite foods, like squash!

For a breakfast food to start off the equinox you could try fried crook-neck squash with sweet onions. It's not super healthy, since it's fried, but it's yummy and filling. You could probably bake it, too as another option.

The other night I made a potato based soup with diced chicken thigh and corn, seasoned with bay leaf and red pepper flakes. It was milder than I would have liked, but shows promise as a good starting point to work from.

Oh definitely. I'm going to whip up some soups soon. Maybe Carrot/red lentil/curry, my mom makes that one and I got the recipe from her. And, well, pretty much all of my favorite recipes that I didn't make in summer because it was too bloody hot to cook.

I love autumn food and that sounds yummy. Unfortunately I don't have cookery skills or knowledge of food. I've tried fruit pie made by my grandmother. I've also tried pumpkin soup and even soup in a pumpkin bowl.

Other foods I've eaten in autumn that I can think of:

Toffee apples
Stew with roast potatoes
Black pudding sausages
Veg soup and wholemeal bread

In autumn I go for bean soup and bread rolls mostly.
