Hello from Pix
« on: July 11, 2014, 04:35:05 am »
Hey! :)

I got into neo-paganism and witchcraft in my teens, drifted away from it in my 20s (I'm 31 now). I often say I'm ignostic meaning I don't think we have the words to accurately describe divine forces or motivations, the best we can do is wing it and try to keep an open mind.

I've been working on a variety of fiction stories, most of them scifi but also some urban fantasy. I've had fun with the scifi in adapting the religions we know today to the future (as well as new cults and religions, one of which requires a degree in mathematics to join the clergy), be it the near future or centuries later among the stars and exploring how religion shapes culture and how culture shapes religion (and find it amusing to have the characters think their religion has "always been this way" and/or that the other versions of their religion are obviously corrupted forms, in some cases hating members of their own religion but another culture and denomination/trad light-years away for blasphemy). Though I mean it more as a way to add depth to my characters and settings I've been thinking more of my own neo-pagan past and thought I'd end up checking this place out here.

I usually post online while I'm working on my stories (as I am now) so I may come off as a bit random at times given all that I'd just been thinking about (and still thinking in the back of my mind) as well as being tired.  I'll try to keep that in check. ;)

I guess that's enough for now, I may add more later.
